Established in 1899, Haverfordwest County is one of Wales’ most historic football clubs.
Founded as Haverfordwest Football Club in 1899 and later renamed Haverfordwest Town, the club has undergone multiple transformations over the decades. By 1936, it became Haverfordwest Athletic, marking the start of its journey in the Welsh Football League. Promotion to the Premier Division came in 1956, and in the years that followed, the club solidified its presence at the top level of Welsh football.
The club was a founding member of the League of Wales in 1992 and, after a brief hiatus, returned in 1997. A major highlight came in 2004 when Haverfordwest County qualified for the UEFA Cup, facing Icelandic side FH Hafnarfjörður. Although relegation followed in 2011, the club made a triumphant return in 2015 and secured its place back in the top flight for the 2020-21 season.
Today, Haverfordwest County continues to compete in the Cymru Premier, showcasing talent and ambition on the national stage. The club remains a vital part of Welsh football, with a strong local following and a commitment to developing the next generation of players.
Follow our journey as we strive for continued success both domestically and in future European campaigns.
