Sandy Bear is a registered charity dedicated to supporting children and young people up to 25 years of age who have experienced, or are at risk of, bereavement across Wales. We provide essential services to help young people cope with loss and thrive in life.
At Sandy Bear, we believe that every child and young person deserves the opportunity to thrive, even after experiencing the death of a loved one. Our charity focuses on improving emotional health and well-being for children and their families through pre and post-bereavement support.
The death of a loved one can turn a child's world upside down, and without the right support, it can lead to long-term emotional difficulties. We aim to reduce emotional struggles during childhood and prevent mental illness later in life. Our services improve life quality, educational attainment, and social well-being.
Sandy Bear offers individual and peer group support to help children, young people, and their families make sense of their grief, build positive memories, and lead fulfilling lives. We also offer training for professionals to guide them in supporting children through bereavement.
Our charity's mission is to strengthen the emotional health of young people across Wales, helping them navigate grief and grow resilient in the face of loss. We are here for families and communities, offering essential services at every stage of the grieving process.
