The VC Gallery proudly presents "Dig for Victory," an exciting new Veterans and Community Gardening Project based in the picturesque setting of St Ishmaels. Funded by the Armed Forces Covenant, this initiative aims to bring together ex-military personnel and local community members in a shared space of growth, creativity, and camaraderie.
Every Tuesday, participants gather in Haverfordwest at 9:30am, with the option to meet at the dig site in St Ishmaels at 10am. This weekly event offers a diverse range of activities suitable for all interests and skill levels. Whether you're keen on planting seeds, building bird boxes and benches, designing flower gardens, or simply enjoying the stunning seaside views, there's something for everyone.
The project goes beyond mere gardening. It's a therapeutic space where veterans can find support, community members can engage in meaningful activities, and everyone can contribute to creating a beautiful shared environment. From hands-on tasks like planting and building to more creative pursuits like garden design, participants have the opportunity to learn new skills, share their expertise, and work collaboratively.
"Dig for Victory" is more than just a gardening project; it's a community-building initiative that promotes social inclusion, skill-sharing, and mutual support. The seaside location adds an extra element of tranquility, making it an ideal setting for relaxation and reflection.
No prior gardening experience is necessary to participate. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a complete novice, you'll find a warm welcome and plenty of opportunities to contribute and learn. The project is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for people of all ages and abilities.
