After a 5-0 win over Hakin United 2nds, Monkton Swifts went into this game with plenty of confidence sitting top of the table with only one defeat all season.
But it was the visitors who took the lead early on with George Waters putting Carew 2nds in front just two minutes in.
Captain Butland soon equalised for the Swifts in the 8th minute, thanks to an assist from Harry Turner.
The in-form Josh Sture then put the hosts ahead just over ten minutes later, with Butland turning provider.
Rhys Sture made it three in the 26th minute thanks to an assist from forward Billy Davis, who then got on the scoresheet himself in the 39th minute with an assist from Josh Sture.
Davis added another early in the second half to make it 5-1 to the hosts after being setup by Jordan Kilby.
It was a relatively quiet second half until Liam Butland wrapped up the scoring with another assist for Harry Turner.
The result sees Monkton Swifts 2nds sit top of the Division Two table with 31 points, seven ahead of nearest rivals Herbrandston albeit with two extra games played.
