THERE were wins for Neyland, St Davids and Narberth on Saturday (Feb 17) as they all braved the elements on a wet afternoon.
Rain had battered many pitches throughout the day but credit goes to those who were able to play their games.
LEAGUE 3 WEST A
NEYLAND picked up their sixth win of the season as they won 15-8 in Llanybydder.
The Pembrokeshire All-Blacks took the lead with a try from Owain Evans before Llanybydder hit back with a penalty.
Neyland then lost George Evans and Jasper Endean to injuries and when the half time whistle went they held a two-point advantage.
That was wiped out in the second half as Llanybydder started well and were rewarded with an unconverted try.
Owain Evans then went over for his second try to put Neyland back ahead and a further score from Ben James confirmed their win.
ST DAVIDS, who had only narrowly lost 24-23 to Haverfordwest the previous weekend, beat Pembroke 31-24.
Zak Morgan scored two tries for the Saints and others came from Jack Jones, Ben Lloyd and George Raymond.
Jack Jones added three conversions and the win helped the Saints claim the Willington Slate.
The trophy started in 2019 in memory of father and son duo Gareth and Daniel Willington who sadly lost their lives at sea in 2016.
Prior to Saturday's game, the match ball was taken to Pembroke rugby club before being transferred to Angle and then St Davids RNLI crews. It was then passed on to St Davids' Juniors who ran the ball through the Cathedral and the city before heading back to the rugby club.
A total of £1260 was raised at the rugby match which will be donated to the Fisherman’s Mission and the RNLI.
CARDIGAN were also victorious on Saturday as they beat Pembroke Dock Quins 36-12. View Match Photos here.
Emry Harries, Luke Palmer-Davies and Shaun Leonard scored first half tries for the Cardis.
Sam James went over for the Quins and Ben Hathaway converted.
Palmer-Davies scored a second try for the visitors in the second half before Hathaway scored a try for the Quins.
Aaron Tomkinson and Tom Taylor then both went over as the visitors stretched their lead, completing a comfortable win.
LEAGUE 2 WEST
TENBY United were victorious on Saturday as they beat Nantgaredig 13-8.
Dan Colley scored Tenby's only try of the game on his 200th appearance for the club and Lloyd Thomas converted.
Thomas added two penalties as Tenby sealed their eleventh win of the season.
FISHGUARD drew 6-6 in their game with Lampeter Town.
Lampeter took a 6-0 lead with two penalties but two late penalties from James Griffiths earned the draw for the Seagulls.
MILFORD HAVEN were beaten 8-15 by Mumbles. The visitors took the lead with two tries and a penalty but Milford hit back with a try from Zac Davies. View Match Photos here.
James Trueman added a penalty for the Mariners in the second half but they were unable to add to their tally, settling in the end for a losing bonus point.
LEAGUE 1 WEST
WHITLAND also suffered a narrow defeat on Saturday as they lost 8-12 at home against Waunarlywdd.
Zac France-Miller scored the only try of the game for the Borderers and Geraint Jones added a penalty.
However, four penalties from the visitors gave them victory.
WRU CHAMPIONSHIP WEST
NARBERTH won again on Saturday as they beat Llangennech 15-18.
It maintains their 100% record and sees them hold a 12-point lead over the side in second place.
Lewys Gibby and Dean John scored the tries for the Otters who also had one conversion and two penalties from Jon Rogers.
CRYMYCH suffered a narrow 21-17 defeat at the hands of Maesteg Quins on Saturday.
The Pembrokeshire side trailed 12-6 at the break but were just unable to gain the upper hand in the second half and the Quins held on for the win.
