In August we see the return of Adam's Festival of Hope for the third time which will be held at Haverfordwest High school on Saturday 31st of August and to say it's for a great cause would be an understatement. In partnership with the Welsh blood service Chris Evans Thomas and the Buckateers at Adam's Bucket full of hope are organising another fun filled fundraiser.

Thirty years ago Chris Evans Thomas' late son Adam raised £45,000. Adam was a fit young man in his twenties when he was diagnosed, however he wasn't one to stop living life. He threw himself into fundraising as well as making the most of every moment. Adam developed a love for trees and planting them, was part of a triathlon club and a walkers club along with being in a band. Talk about living life to the full, 50 years of experiences crammed into 10 years as his loving Mum put it. Adam really was the definition of inspirational.

Chris continued Adam's legacy by raising an outstanding £56,000 in just one day with a festival. 'The Distraction Centre' in Dew St in Haverfordwest is just one example of what amazing work this organisation does, set up to help newly diagnosed cancer patients distract themselves from what is news nobody wants to hear. In addition to this the fundraising has also been used to establish 'The Pembrokeshire Room' which is a high dependency room in the Heath Hospital in Cardiff.

The charity is run by patients which makes it very special and unique. It's also unique in it's positive take on life no matter what the situation. They organise walks, talks, therapies, hair and beauty session as well as parties, plenty of parties. It's inspirational to see and have an insight into the work this charity does and no matter what it's done with a smile on their faces.

We will be giving the festival our full support and encourage everyone to do the same it's for an excellent cause and will be a lot of fun.
