Meet Amanda Butler – the Pembrokeshire veterinary physiotherapist helping horses, dogs, and cats move better and live happier.

For Amanda Butler, a love of animals isn't just a job – it's a lifelong passion. Growing up surrounded by horses and dogs in the Pembrokeshire countryside, she developed a deep connection with animals from an early age. That passion, combined with years of hands-on experience competing horses, sparked a career dedicated to helping animals recover, perform, and thrive.

Today, Amanda is a fully qualified veterinary physiotherapist offering mobile services across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, and the surrounding areas. Whether it's a horse recovering from injury, a dog managing arthritis, or a cat needing post-surgery rehabilitation, Amanda provides tailored, evidence-based treatment plans designed to restore mobility, relieve pain, and improve quality of life.

From Newmarket to Pembrokeshire

Amanda's journey into veterinary physiotherapy took her to some of the best institutions in the country. She holds a BSc in Equine Science with Rehabilitation and a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy from the University of Nottingham's prestigious School of Veterinary Medicine and Science.

Her professional experience includes working at Newmarket Equine Hospital – one of the UK's leading equine veterinary centres – where she gained invaluable clinical and performance care experience. For the past three years, she has also worked within a small animal veterinary practice, where she now runs a dedicated physiotherapy clinic alongside her mobile services.

A compassionate, hands-on approach

Amanda is a fully insured and regulated member of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP), ensuring she upholds the highest professional and ethical standards in her practice. She is also Canine Arthritis Management (CAM) accredited, bringing specialist knowledge to pets living with joint conditions.

But beyond the qualifications, it's Amanda's warm and compassionate nature that sets her apart. Known for being friendly, reliable, and trustworthy, she takes the time to build strong relationships with clients and their animals. Every patient receives care in a calm, supportive environment – whether that's at a busy yard, a family home, or a veterinary clinic.

Countryside life in Pembrokeshire

When she's not helping animals get back on their feet (or hooves), Amanda enjoys life in beautiful Pembrokeshire with her two young children, her energetic cockapoo Teddy, and her horses. She loves being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and making the most of everything the countryside has to offer.

If your horse, dog, or cat could benefit from physiotherapy, Amanda is ready to help. Get in touch to find out how veterinary physiotherapy can make a real difference to your animal's health, comfort, and happiness.
