Pembrokeshire Black Widows got off to a winning start in the Wales Pool Interleague 3rd Division with a 24-16 win over Barry Island.
Following their promotion from the 4th Division, the Pembrokeshire B team, nicknamed "The Black Widows" faced a tough home fixture to Barry Island.
The first set of 8 games saw the Widows establish a 5-3 lead, but the reverse scoreline in the second set saw Barry Island level 8-8. T
The next two sets were both tied at 4-4 leaving the scoreline at 16-16 heading into the all-important final set.
The Widows held their nerve and showed their quality with a clean sweep, winning the set 8-0 to secure an opening game win in style.
Paul Bevan was awarded the Player of the Match award for the home team, impressively winning 4 out of 5 frames.
