With title rivals Goodwick in action in the FAW Amateur Trophy, Hakin United knew a victory over Merlins Bridge would see them go top of the table in what is already playing out to be a close title battle.

The Vikings took an early lead with Shane Walsh scoring thanks to an assist from midfielder Jack Britton.

Young forward Callum Stannett doubled the lead in the second half thanks to an assist from Mark Jones.

Merlins Bridge substitute Steffan Williams scored his fourth goal of the season to halve the deficit after being set up by Alex Thomas.

That was to be the end of the action in a fiery encounter with seven yellow cards being awarded to the visitors along with two to the home side.
