Monkton Swifts 2nds traveled to face Merlins Bridge 2nds with a perfect record of wins, following last week's impressive 5-1 victory over Hakin United 2nds.

Merlins Bridge 2nds also came into the game in strong form, with three consecutive victories, with the match promising to be a close encounter.

It was the Wizards who got off to the perfect start, with Joe Leahy giving them the lead in the opening minute thanks to an assist from Matthew D'Ivry.

The Swifts equalised in the 15th minute with forward Billy Davis scoring thanks to an assist from Liam Butland.

The in-form Lee Duignan put the visitors in front just before the second-half, before adding another early in the second to double the lead and put the Swifts 3-1 in front.

Joe Leahy halved the deficit in the 67th minute with a clever low free-kick for the hosts.

Bridge thought they had grabbed a late equaliser through a Lee Hudgell free-kick but it was not to be as the goal was disallowed for a push in the box.
