Narberth clinched the Championship West title with the a demolition 61-7 victory over Maesteg Quins.
Narberth took to the field knowing that a single point was all they required to secure the league title. Complacency was no issue for the Otters dominated the game from the outset and showed a healthy crowd exactly why they are Champions of the Championship. Maesteg Quins were the opponents who sit second from bottom of the league and in reality it would have taken a huge shock for the Otters not to have picked up the single point they needed.
Outstanding centre Hedd Nicholas dominated the midfield as he crossed the whitewash for three tries. Geiraint Llewelyn also crossed twice, in addition to tries from Sutton, Phillips, Hamer and Ianto Griffiths. Rogers trusted boot converted five times and club legend Ianto Griffiths converted three times himself. Another outstanding display of rugby in which the Otters were clearly a class above, as they have been so many times this season.
The league table makes great reading for the club and all supporters, with a points total of 102 points and 21 wins from 22 shows the complete dominance from the Otters this season. The one loss will be frustrating for the players and staff who would have loved to have gone the entire league campaign unbeaten.
