Goodwick United secured their place in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Senior Cup Final with a 2-1 victory over Pennar Robins at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium on Friday 19th April 2024.
It was a hard-fought victory for the already crowned Division One Champions, with Pennar battling hard to keep the Phoenix Boys at bay.
The Robins took the lead just five minutes in after a great break down the right before Ceri Griffiths cut the ball back Sean Edmundson to fire in a fantastic left foot finish first time in to the top corner.
Goodwick equalised in the 18th minute when the recently returned Rhys Jones was first to Rhys Dalling's lovely through ball, calmly chipping it over the Pennar goalkeeper.
Dalling then got on the scoresheet himself to give his side the lead in the 40th minute with a right foot strike to beat the 'keeper at the near post after being set up by Will Haworth.
The game saw a relatively quiet second half, with no clear cut chances of note, with Pennar working hard to make it difficult for Goodwick.
In the final, Goodwick will face the winner of Carew vs Clarbeston Road today (Saturday 20th April 2024) as they look to complete a domestic League and Cup double.
