All of this meant Burton made 345/3 a huge total and some of the bowling figures were fairly expensive as Lamphey's bowlers had no answer for Burton's batsmen. 

In reply a wary and leggy Lamphey were skittled for just 88, with only opener Shelmerdine making an sort of notable contribution. Nick Jones was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts as he tool 4-13.
