It was an important game for both teams for different reasons when Herbranston travelled to Johnston. The visitors are looking to close in on the league title, however Burton are hot on their heels. While a rained off game and a couple of defeats has meant Johnston need a win or two to ensure their safety.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bowl and it seemed to be a wise call as they reduced the league leaders to 39-3. Keegan Codd and Liam James bowling with great control to stop any free scoring and claim a wicket a piece in their spells. Lee Summons then picked up two wickets, before Lewis Boswell took 3-31 as  Herbie were limited to 159 all out, a below par score. Harry Nicolas was Herbie's top scorer as he anchored the innings with a gritty 73 from 113 balls. Bennett added 21 while Dai Malloy was unbeaten on 23 two knocks which proved vital in the end.

Herbie dismissed star batsmen Lee Summons for 12, something they had to do early if they were going to defend this total. Fellow opener Fitzpatrick also fell for four and the chase wasn't off to an ideal start. Leigh Walters settled things down as he added 38 in a good partnership with Boswell who himself made 44. However when Boswell was dismissed the hosts still needed 53 to win. Despite Geno Cleal getting to 11 and Nick Davies making an unbeaten 16 the Johnston tail fell six short of their target in the final over of the game.

A thrilling and nail biting finish, Herbie's lead at the top of the table is now 3 points, while Johnston still need a win or two to make them safe.
