It was all to play for going into the final game of the season in the second division. Johnston were ahead of Pembroke Dock but far from safe and a Dock win and a loss would have seen them in big trouble. Pembroke Dock took on Llechryd another team at the wrong end of the table on Haverfordwest's third ground which is not easy to score runs on. That being said at tea Pembroke Dock's 107 seemed like a very decent score on that pitch. It proved to be the case as they went on to defend it, bowling Llechryd out for 83 with Nick Daley taking 4 wickets, all eyes turned to Johnston.
The hosts had batted first and batted well, with Summons showing he is a class above this league once again with a brilliant unbeaten 141, he was well supported by Lewis Boswell again adding 25, and Geno Cleal also adding 25 after Leigh Walters had batted well earlier in the innings. This meant Johnston had set Pembroke 274 to win.
Jack Harries again led the way for his team making 101 to end a good season for himself, however Johnston were able to restrict the run rate in the final 15 overs to ensure the visitors fell 33 runs short of their target, which meant safety once again for Johnston who seem to love doing things the exciting way, while Dock were gutted as they now will play their cricket in the third division next season.
