In a crucial relegation battle in the first division, St Ishmaels secured a vital victory over Llangwm, winning by six wickets in a low-scoring encounter.

Llangwm, batting first, struggled to build momentum as they were bowled out for 132. Despite a few starts from their batsmen, including Matthew Kiff's resilient 45 and Tom Rees' 27, the innings lacked the substantial partnerships needed to post a challenging total. The 23 extras conceded by Tish provided some relief to Llangwm, but it wasn’t enough to push their score beyond the modest 132.

St Ishmaels' bowlers were impressive once again after their memorable performance last week. Once again Jonathan Pawlett leading the attack. He delivered another match-winning performance, claiming 4 wickets for 35 runs. Brennan Devonald also made his bowled well and finished with figures of 2-15, while the experience of Stuart Carpenter and Steve Williams chipped in with two wickets each, ensuring Llangwm never got off the hook.

In response, Tish chased down the target with relative ease, reaching 136 for 4. Despite losing Peter Bradshaw early for 14, a composed 40 from Jonathan Pawlett and an unbeaten 51 from Phil Llewellyn guided them home. Brennan Devonald added 10 not out at the end, ensuring there were no late jitters. Extras once again played a part, contributing 16 runs to the chase.

Llangwm's bowlers tried to keep the contest alive, with Noah Davies, Dom Asson, Callum Jenkins, and Mike Williams each picking up a wicket. However, their efforts couldn't prevent St Ishmaels from cruising to a much-needed win.

The result is a huge one for Tish once again who have now had two vital wins on the bounce and sit ten points clear of Llangwm. Llangwm now occupy the second relegation place after Haverfordwest’s victory. A nail biting conclusion to the season awaits.
