A result that had many if not most do a double take as league champions and current league leaders Neyland were bowled all out for just 31 runs. Tish batted first and found batting hard themselves as they were bowled out for 101, which on most days would be a losing score. Tom Pritchard took 3-23 for Neyland while, Sean Hannon took 2-5, at the interval Neyland were happy with how their bowling efforts had gone. Andrew Pawlett's 15 along with Tom Williams 15 and Phil Llewellin's 14 wouldn't have seemed anywhere near match winning at tea.
However the Tish bowlers had an afternoon they will never forget, Pawlett was simply unplayable as he took 6 wickets for 14 runs in 6.6 overs. Devonald took the key wickets of Bellerby and Hannon in his spell of 2-17. Before Williams used all his skill and experience to take two wickets for no runs, including key wicket of opener Murray as well as all rounder Hardy. Murray was dismissed with the score 27-4, which then became 27-9 as five wickets fell without a run being scored in a brilliant display of bowling and fielding from Tish. When Gary Lloyd was dismissed it was game over and 31 all out was the score, a huge shock for everyone in the county. Tish have done themselves a huge favour in terms of their chances of survival, while Carew would have been delighted to see the result as they are now hot on the heels of the league leaders.
A real classic encounter which will be talked about in Tish for years to come, Neyland will be hoping to bounce back with a bang next week.
