Clarbeston Road completed a famous treble of victories over Hakin United thanks to goals from Laurie Haworth, Ben John and Matthew Davies.

The home side would have gone into the game with confidence having already secured league and cup victories over the Vikings this season with 2-1 and 4-1 wins respectively.

Back-to-back league defeats are virtually unprecedented for a side of Hakin's class and stature in recent years, but with a few key players out, this was always going to be a challenging fixture.

Ryan Mansell returned to action for the first time this season, with youngster Mason Dolling starting alongside a youthful bench of Callum Rees, George Wheeler and Bobby Jenkins.

The visitors took the lead in the 29th minute with Alfie Stottor being set up by forward Shane Walsh to give Hakin a 1-0 lead at the half time interval.

Clarby equalised in the 55th minute through former Hakin man Laurie Haworth, who was set up by birthday boy Travis Jones.

The game remained level until the 85th minute, when once again Ben "Rocky" John got on the scoresheet to make it 2-1 after being set up by Matthew Davies.

Matthew Davies then got on the scoresheet himself, sealing the victory in injury-time thanks to an assist from Laurie Haworth.

The victory sees Clarbeston Road up to third in the league, with Merlins Bridge not in league action. Hakin remain second, eight points ahead of Clarby but two points behind leaders Goodwick, having played three games more.
