Merlins Bridge went into this game full of confidence on the back of nine games undefeated across all competitions.

The Wizards took the lead through in-form forward Tom Jago who opened the scoring in the 34th minute after being set up by Rhys Lewis.

Nick Squire doubled the lead just six minutes later with an assist from Gino Dragone.

Carew hit back almost immediately with the in-form Marcus Griffiths pulling a goal back just two minutes later with a James Hinchliffe assist.

Youngster Archie Smith then equalised just before half-time, after being set up by Shaun Whitfield.

Merlins Bridge were forced in a 53rd minute subsitute when goalkeeper Ben Henton came off injured, where he was taken to A&E with ligament damage. With no goalkeepers on the bench, Gino Dragone took up the gloves for the remainder of the match, soon pulling off a fantastic save from a Marcus Griffiths' free-kick to keep his side level.

Another substitute made the decisive second half breakthrough for the hosts, with club legend Joe Leahy coming on to score a header from a Tomos Gwilliam corner in the 81st minute.

It wasn't to be the winner though as Carew showed their fighting spirit with a late equaliser through a substitute of their own with Harvey Drummond scoring after being set up by Marcus Griffiths.
