Merlins Bridge extended their unbeaten run to nine games with an emphatic 5-1 victory over in-form Clarbeston Road, thanks to a hat-trick from Alex Thomas and goals from Tom Jago and Tomos Gwilliam.
The Wizards went in to the game on a five game winning streak across all competition whilst Clarbeston Road would have been buoyed with confidence following their 4-1 victory over Hakin United.
The visitors got off to the perfect start with Ben "Rocky" John once again on the scoresheet, following a Man of the Match performance the previous weekend, putting Clarbeston Road ahead in the 15th minute.
The lead only lasted for seven minutes, with forward Alex Thomas equalising for Merlins Bridge thanks to an assist from Tomos Gwilliam.
The duo then combined again nine minutes later to put Merlins Bridge ahead.
Tomos Gwilliam then got on the scoresheet himself after being set up by Rhys Lewis, to put the Wizards 3-1 ahead at the half-time break.
Bridge continued their momentum in the second period, with Andy Thomas completing his hat-trick in the 61st minute with an assist from the in-form Tom Jago.
Thomas then returned the favour, setting up Jago to complete the scoring in the 82nd minute.
