Hook 187 for 7 (7) lost to Herbrandston 188 for 6 (17)

Herbie made the short journey to Hook looking to continue their good form and keep up the pressure on top of the league Burton. It was the hosts who were tasked with setting a total and Herbie would have been hoping to contain a batting line up that contains plenty of dangerous players. Hook reached 187 for 7 with William Goronwy ending unbeaten on 54 having batted well to get his team to a competitive total. Aled Phelps (33) Owen Phelps (25) and Callum John (25) all managed to get starts but none were able to kick on and really kick start the innings, that being said a real team effort to reach 187.

For the visitors Charlie Malloy impressed again with 2-22 supported by vice captain Dean John (1-31) and captain Robbie Hood (2-38) while Kristan Bennett picked up a wicket on his return from injury. In reply Herbie saw in form Harry Nicholas reached a classy 52 while fellow young all rounder Charlie Malloy made 25 before the slightly more experienced Kristan Bennett showed his quality and experience to guide his team over the line as he ended the innings unbeaten on a impressive 52.

Herbie remain in second with a nice gap to Carew seconds who sit in third place, while Hook continue to underwhelm this season and sit firmly in mid table and any promotion hopes seem long gone. After last season's impressive push for promotion Hook were tipped to kick on this season, however it doesn't have seemed to have clicked yet for them.
