Johnston have had a much better start to this season in comparison to previous seasons, in contrast to Saturday's opponents Pembroke Dock have started far worse than in previous seasons and find themselves at the wrong end of the league. The hosts were yet again missing a few key players including captain Chris Fitzpatrick, it was their task to set a target in this important clash.
Lee Summons who is one of the most important wickets in the second division, as he is capable of taking the game away from anyone, was dismissed for 40 which the Dock would have been pleased with. His partner in crime of late Lewis Boswell made 46 while his older brother Liam Boswell added 33. The pick of the bowlers for the visitors were all rounder Scott Griffiths who took 2-40 while Connor Carroll and Nick Daley picked up five wickets between them for just 17 runs, (3-6) and (2-11) respectively. Johnston ended on 148 all out which was definitely under par on a good track.
In reply Pembroke Dock made fairly light work of that target thanks to Rhys Daley (45) and George Smith (78) as they only lost three wickets in their successful chase. A vital win for the Dock as they climb into seventh after previously sitting bottom, Johnston will be looking over their shoulders slightly however are only a couple of good wins away from being comfortable in mid table.
