After last week's brilliant win Haverfordwest will have taken confidence into their clash with Lawrenny knowing they need a few more brilliant wins to avoid the drop this season. Lawrenny's form has been up and down and they fielded first in this important clash.

It wasn't the start Town had in mind they lost Danny Field for 8, followed by brother Ben who fell for a duck. Field is one of the best players in the county but has had a very quiet season by his high standards and has got a few in the bank so to speak. A couple of typical Ben Field innings between now and the end of the season could be enough to see his team safe, such is the quality of his batting. The same can be said for Adam James his ability with bat and ball is legendary and it seems unlikely he won't have a big part to play in the coming weeks.

Merry and Perera fell cheaply after last weeks heroics, however opener Mikey Jones was unphased and went about his business calmly as he made a impressive 85 from 112 balls. Marchant added 18 and skipper Phillips 13 but Town fell short in the final over and were all out for 173 just two runs short of Lawrenny's total. A great effort and all Jones needed was someone to chip in with a solid 20 or 30 and it would have been too much for Lawrenny to chase, however it wasn't to be.

In reply Harry Thomas led the way for his team as he ended the innings unbeaten on 51 while Ryan Morton added a useful 30, but Town will have been happy with their efforts having restricted Lawrenny to 175, a very get able target. Adam James bowled well as he took 2-22 from his nine overs including four maidens, while Clive Tucker's slow stuff picked up three wickets, however Thomas got his team over the line and Town were left wishing somebody could have put together 20 or 30 which would have proved vital.
