On the back of their cup win last Sunday, Neyland had another important game when they visited third place Cresselly in a vital game at the top of the table. In the reverse fixture Cresselly were denied a big win by the rain when they were on the verge of a almost certain victory. However this time round it was Neyland who came out on top.

The hosts batted first having lost the toss and didn't have the best of starts as they found themselves 27-2 having lost both openers cheaply. Charlie Arthur and Simon Cole combined to steady the ship, before Cole was bowled by Andrew Miller for 23. Arthur kept going as he made a impressive 86 from just 75 balls included six 6s, before eventually falling to the bowling of Nick Koomen when he was caught by Pritchard. Tom Murphy added a useful 34, and Ollie Arthur added 20 which meant the hosts reached 206 all out in their final over of the 45. Sean Hannon bowled well at the lower order as he picked up 3-26 from his 5.3 overs.

Neyland had a steadier start to their innings as both openers got starts Murray made 37 and his opening partner Bellerby made 23, neither however were able to kick on as Christian Phillips picked up the wickets of both openers. This brought Koomen to the crease who stood up and took the game away from the hosts his unbeaten 85 made sure Neyland chased their target six wickets and plenty of overs to spare. Dai Davies chipped in with a useful 25 before he fell LBW to Arthur, however the result was never in doubt as long as Koomen was at the crease.

An impressive win for the league leaders and they are now looking increasingly likely to do the double this season.
