It was a must game for Haverfordwest, James and Jones ensured they did exactly that. Phillips won the toss and the visitors elected to bowl. Noah Davies and Matthew Kiff both got into the 40s but the slow stuff from Tucker and Marchant made sure neither could kick on. One of the most important wickets in the county is Steven Mills and Merry dismissed the in form all rounder for just four which was a huge boost for the visitors. A combination of Inwards unbeaten 34 and Ollie Davies' run a ball 25 meant the hosts reached 188/8 from their 45 overs.
In form opener Mikey Jones once again led the way for his side as he made a vital 71 from 105 balls which included ten boundaries. Field continued to struggle for runs as he was dismissed for just 4. Skipper Phillips added a important 29 before he was dismissed by Kiff. Adam James made certain of the win with his 44 from just 28 balls which included three 4s and four 6s as we saw glimpses of how dangerous James can be. James finding form could be a huge factor in Town's fight for survival. As a team they have improved week on week and even in defeat haven't been well beaten for some time. The battle and fight shown from Town suggests they are well up for the relegation battle. Any team below fifth are still far from safe as we go into the business end of the season.
