Pembrokeshire Division Two - Burton 275-5 beat Pembroke Dock 116 all out.

Burton continued their remarkable form this season with a comprehensive victory over Pembroke Dock, securing their position at the top of the league table. The match highlighted Burton's dominance both with the bat and the ball, while Pembroke Dock's struggle for survival in the league became more evident despite their win in the previous week.

Batting first Burton set a formidable target, scoring 275 for 7 in their allotted overs. The batting lineup showcased their depth and quality with skipper Toby Hayman once again with a typically elegant 91, he was brilliantly backed up by Joe Kiff who himself added 80. There were also very useful contributions from Jon Venables (24), Dan Llewellyn (38) and David Lewis (22).

The Dock's bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with only Scott Griffiths who returned figures of 3-20 showing any real control or threat to the Burton batting line up. In response, the Dock was bowled out for 116, falling well short of the target. Griffiths again the only player for the Dock to make any real contribution as he top scored with 33, with nobody else managing to get beyond 20. Burton's bowlers were in fine form, supporting the batsmen brilliantly the pick of the attack was Dan Llewellyn who took 4-14, while slow bowler Morgan Scale also impressed as he took 2-16.

Burton's victory by 159 runs puts them top of the league but also sends another strong message to the rest of division Hayman and his men mean business. On the other hand, Pembroke Dock's form is worrying they won last week however that was almost solely down to a excellent all round performance from George Smith. With a relegation battle looming, they need find form quickly to avoid being cut adrift from the rest of the division.
