Burton II 187-9 beat Hook II 105 all out

Burton and Hook's second teams met in the third division Saturday, a local derby that looked evenly match going into the game. Burton's first team have been blowing teams away with the bat of late, Saturday their second team followed suit as they scored 187 which proved too much for Hook. An excellent result for Burton which moves them into third place a impressive feat following their promotion last season.

Batting first, Burton set a formidable target of 187-9 in their allotted overs. Martin James was the star of the innings, showcasing his quality and experiences making 89 runs. Gavin Campbell provided solid support, contributing 43 runs to the total. Hook didn't let Burton get away from them as Brennan Martin (3-28) and Jamie Phelps (3-24) put in good bowling performances. 187 was the magic number at tea, a good score but also not out of the hosts reach.

In response, Hook batting lineup found veteran Jon Scale impossible to play he caused havoc with an outstanding spell of 5-17. Brennan Martin dug in for his team with 35. However nobody else managed to stick around as the hosts were dismissed for 105 runs, falling well short of the target.
