Johnston 87 all out lost to Hook 88-2

It was a one-sided contest when Hook met a Johnston team missing key players, Hook took full advantage as they secured a dominant victory over Johnston by 8 wickets.

Johnston, batting first, were bundled out for a disappointing 87 runs. Lee Summons (14), Geno Cleal (24), and Liam James (24) were the only batters to reach double figures in an otherwise disappointing batting display. Hook’s bowlers were in fine form, with Callum James leading the attack with impressive figures of 4-32. Aled Phelps (2-15) and Owen Phelps (2-6) also made significant contributions, while Jack Phillips chipped in with 2-32.

Chasing a modest target of 88, Hook reached the total comfortably in just 20 overs, losing only 2 wickets. Liam Miller (24) laid a solid foundation before being dismissed, while George James (32 not out) and Harry Makepeace (20 not out) guided the team to victory without further loss. Lee Summons was the lone bright spot for Johnston with the ball, taking 2-30.

Steve James umpired the contest while the scorers were Emma Summons and Chris Holder. The result highlights Johnston's relative lack of strength in depth and leaves them with two wins from a possible six so far. Hook move into fourth with their third win of the season in what is shaping up to be a very tight league table.
