Haverfordwest have made a welcome return to the first division having previously been one of the best teams in the county, however so far their return hasn't gone to plan. Town sit bottom of the league with just one win which came early on in the season against Llangwm. They reached 34 for the loss of one wicket in this six pointer before the rain stopped play and ended the contest. Not an outcome that is helpful to either teams, having come up together last season they now look set for a battle to stay in the league which is likely to go to the bitter end.

Both teams are in similar positions they both have real quality in their ranks players such as Ben Field, Adam James, Jonathan Thomas and Scott Newton would get into any team in this county. The issue maybe that the gulf in standard to the second team players mean that if there are places in the team that need filling the players coming in perhaps aren't quite up to the level required in the first division. Both teams have every chance of staying up however they need their senior star players to really step up and inspire the rest of the squad.

This result won't help either club and it's unlucky as most games were completed and means they both lose ground through no fault of their own. We hope the weather is kinder to both clubs in the coming weeks.
