Llangwm 212-8 lost to Carew 214-3
Saturday the 8th of June brought us yet more excellent cricket, and yet another outstanding performance from the in form Steven Mills. Mills showed his quality once again as he made 119 with the bat before then taking three wickets with the ball in hand. Mills innings led Llangwm to setting a competitive total of 212 for 8, a competitive total but one Carew would have been confident they could chase on a small ground. Luke Brock added a useful 38 for the hosts whilst Steve Inward scored 24, the visitors were delighted to get Inward for a fairly modest score knowing if he had batted with Mills for a period of time it may have been game over. For the visitors veteran Barry Evans' slow stuff caused problems for the hosts batsmen as he claimed four wickets for just 39 runs, whilst youngster Iori Hicks continued his good form as he took 3 wickets for 42 runs.
Carew's response was good and Morgan Grieve 68, Rhys Davies 42 and James Hinchliffe 23 made sure of a fairly comfortable win for the Rooks losing only three wickets in the process. Llangwm conceded a huge amount of extras with the total being 47 by the end of the innings, the second highest contributor to Carew's total. This result demonstrates that Llangwm clearly have some of the county's most talented cricketers in their ranks and can beat anyone on their day. However they have a distinct lack of strength in depth which looks certain to hold them back this season.
