St Ishmaels 80-0 beat Llangwm 77 all out
Llangwm have showed in previous weeks having Steven Inward and Steven Mills in your ranks means you can beat anyone on your day. However we have drawn attention to Llangwm's lack of strength in depth, Saturday Tish took full advantage of that.
Llangwm batted first and Inward seemed to be in the mood again and having got to 32 Tish may have feared he was about to take the game away from them, a good time then to dismiss the star batsman who indeed fell for 32. This proved to be their highest score as the wickets came regularly as Tish dismissed them for just 77. Steve Williams taking an excellent four wickets for just 13 runs while Thomas Williams took 2 wickets for just 11 runs in what was a good afternoon out for the Tish bowlers.
At tea 77 was set to be a comfortable target for Tish, however both teams will have been well aware that a couple of early wickets would have changed everything. Brennan Devonald batted brilliantly and the Tish opener will have been disappointed he had to stop batting, but obviously delighted with his teams huge victory. Devonald ended unbeaten on 58 which left Rhead his opening partner not many to get himself, as he ended with 22 unbeaten, continuing his impressive form this season.
The result was an important one for Tish as it now puts them 26 points ahead of Llangwm who sit in second bottom and despite the quality in their ranks look to be in a bit of bother at the wrong end of the table.
