Haverfordwest were sitting bottom of the league and in desperate need of a win and a performance to turn their season round as they took on Saundersfoot. Town skipper Phillips won the toss and elected to fielding, and would have been hoping to restrict Saundersfoot to a small total. However a brilliant hundred from opener Tom Mansbridge paved the way for Saundersfoot to set a huge total for Town to chase. Mansbridge demonstrated how he is one of the most talented all rounders in the county as he scored 102 from 95 balls which included 15 boundaries. He found useful support from brother Jon who added 38 before he was stumped, James Caine added a solid 30, while there was a impressive late cameo from Brace who scored 35 from just 14 balls. This meant Saundersfoot ended on 287/7 with Clive Tucker the pick of the bowling as he took 2-34.
At tea, 287 seemed like a long way away for Town who have struggled lately, they'd have known that somebody needed to go big if they were to have any chance of chasing this. When Adam James fell for a quick fire 24 Town were 70-4 with some of their best batsmen in the shed. However wicket keeper Perera was in the run scoring mood and settled in quickly showing his stroke making ability. Jake Merry was at the other end and was patient for his crucial 36 from 61 balls as he supported Perera. The pair put on a partnership of 129 before Merry fell lbw to Nick Cope. Perera however wasn't going to leave anything to chance he hit an outstanding nineteen 4s and four 6s in his unbeaten 142 from 104 balls as he led his team to a brilliant win, an innings that will live long in the memory. Danny Caine was a threat with the ball as he took 2-16 from four overs while Nick Cope also bowled well as he ended with 2-36 but it wasn't enough to prevent Town from an excellent victory.
