Johnston 2nds secured a vital win in their push for promotion thanks to a second half brace from Robbie Corner.
After defeating league leaders Hundleton the previous weekend, Johnston knew that they had another tough challenge ahead in the battle between 4th and 3rd place, with just one point separating them and Haverfordwest Cricket Club 2nds.
In a closely contested first half the game was goalless. Josh Lealand had thought he had put the hosts ahead before the goal was disallowed for offside.
Johnston broke the deadlock just one minute into the second half, when Billy Davies played a fantastic ball to the back post to pick out Robbie Corner who connected sweetly with the ball to fire it into the top corner.
Robbie Corner added another in the 76th minute, after more good work from Billy Davies and a touch from James Rees set him up one on one with the keeper, who he calmly slotted past.
The win sees Johnston 2nds move up to third place in the table, just three points behind Pembroke Boro 2nds in second place, but with two games in hand.
