Pembrokeshire Junior Chess Club v Castell Nedd Junior Chess Club 28/05/24

A historic day in the history of Pembrokeshire Junior Chess club where they played their
first ever match against Castell Nedd Juniors. This took place at the home of
Pembrokeshire Chess, Kensington Court in Steynton and thanks are given to the venue
and Margaret Baron Club President ,and Callum Babb for helping on the day.
The match consisted of 8 aside with 4 matches played with the playing order rotated. It
was a fantastic advert for Junior Chess with the standard of play being excellent and
exemplary on the top few boards considering their age.The winner on the day was
undoubtedly Chess, with everyone enjoying the occasion. and playing different opponents.
Martin Jones Coach and organiser thanked Claire Gorman and Hywel Griffiths for bringing
their Juniors down and later in the year there will be a return fixture arranged.
The Pembrokeshire team comprised some experienced players and beginners to Chess.
