Division one is taking shape to be one of the most competitive and exciting for years as we reach the business end of the season. In reality outside of the top four nobody is yet safe from being drawn into a relegation battle and two wins or two losses can change everything.

Neyland continue to lead the way and Carew and Cresselly are still in contention but will be hoping Neyland slip up sooner rather than later. Haverfordwest had a crucial win thanks to Adam James' explosive innings which will give them a lot of inspiration for the rest of the season. Despite impressing for most of the season Saundersfoot had a terrible day at the office as they were hammered by Carew. Whilst almost 500 runs were scored in a great game down at Tish between them and Narberth with both teams needing points to steer themselves to safety.

Carew vs Saundersfoot

Carew achieved a dominant 10-wicket victory over Saundersfoot in a one-sided contest as they skittled Saundersfoot for under 50. Saundersfoot's batting lineup collapsed to 43 all out, with Iori Hicks (3-11), James Hinchliffe (4-16), and Shaun Whitfield (3-2 in 6 overs) wreaking havoc. In response, Carew easily chased down the target, reaching 45 without loss. Tim Hicks (26*) and Morgan Grieve (17*) ensured a swift victory. Umpires for the match were Trefor Evans and Rob Bellerby, with scorers Julie Davies and Adge John.

Lawrenny vs Cresselly

Cresselly secured a narrow 13-run win against Lawrenny in a tightly contested match. Cresselly posted 158 all out, with Joe Kidney top-scoring with 47. Dan James was the standout bowler for Lawrenny, taking 5-16. In reply, Lawrenny fell short, being bowled out for 145. Neal Williams (36) and Charlie Arthur (43) was enough to get their team over the line despite an impressive spell from Harry Thomas as he took 5-16. Chris Stapleton umpired the match, with Malcolm Thomas and Cerys Jenkins scoring.

Llangwm vs Haverfordwest

Haverfordwest chased down a challenging target to defeat Llangwm by 5 wickets. Llangwm posted 188 for 8, with Noah Davies and Matthew Kiff each contributing 40 runs. Haverfordwest's bowlers, led by Clive Tucker (3-24) and James Marchant (2-38), managed to contain the score. In their chase, the man in form opener Mikey Jones made a vital 72 before Adam James’ explosive 44 guided Haverfordwest to 190 for 5. We said last week that the season wouldn't end without James and Field giving vital match winning performances. This was vintage James and it'll will worry all of the division if he can find his best form. Town had to win this one and once again showed good fight and spirit to do so, after a poor start to the season they seem to be improving weekly and have given themselves a good chance of survival. The game was officiated by Glyn Cole, with Sara Jeffrey and Jayne Cole as scorers.

St Ishmaels vs Narberth

Narberth triumphed over St Ishmaels by 6 wickets in a high-scoring affair. St Ishmaels set a good score ending on 244 for 5, thanks to significant contributions from Karl Rhead (88), Jonathan Pawlett (85), and Phil Llewelyn (55). Narberth's response was led by brothers Ben Quartermaine’s 77 and Kyle Quartermaine’s 64, as they chased down the target with 245 for 4. A crucial win for Narberth as they benefit from having all their key players available again. Umpires Ian Gow and Ian Milsom officiated, with scorers Wendy Bradshaw and Carmen Haltam.

Whitland vs Neyland

Leaders Neyland outplayed Whitland, securing a massive 127-run victory. Neyland amassed 207 for 8, with significant contributions from Dai Davies (40) and Ross Hardy (46) with the bat. Before with the ball Tom Pritchard (3-29) and Andrew Miller (3-23) were instrumental in restricting Whitland to 80 all out. Geraint Pugh top-scored for Whitland with 40, but the batting lineup could not withstand the bowling onslaught. The match was umpired by Gareth Brace and Huw Simpkins, with scorers Colin John and John Laugharne.
