Lamphey 110/3 beat Pembroke Dock 108 all out

Newly promoted Lamphey hosted Pembroke Dock in a local derby both teams were eager to win having both lost their league opener last time out. The Dock batted first and would have been hoping to bat Lamphey out of the game, however their innings never really got going. Only George Smith (41) and Adam Phillips (21) made any real contributions with everyone else falling cheaply. Lamphey's slow stuff did the damage with David Dredge taking an outstanding 5-5 whilst Hywel Gibbs took 2-12 and Grant Cole 2-17, a good afternoon for the Lamphey attack.

Pembroke Dock managed only 108 all out a score Lamphey were confident they could chase at tea. Their confidence was accurate as they passed the total without any real hiccups and with seven wickets in hand. All rounder David Blackwell 34 and Andy Tait 39* knocked off the majority of the total before Nick Shelmerdine 11* made sure the job was done.

A significant result for Lamphey as it's their first win in their return to the second division. Pembroke Dock have been comfortable in the second division of late however the end of last season and the beginning of this is a cause for concern.
