Narberth 2nds defeated Johnston 2nds 3-1 at Marble Hall Pitch to secure their place in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Division Five Cup Final on Saturday 4th May 2024.

Narberth started brightly and deservedly took the lead through forward Ryan Williams, after smart passing football in attack.

As the first half went on, Johnston began to come back into the game but their progress was halted when defender Nathan Lowe was dismissed for an instinctive fingertip save, giving away a penalty.

Narberth were denied from the spot-kick after a brilliant save by Geraint Sargeant but Ashley Bantock buried the rebound to double their lead, going into the half-time break 2-0 up.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, Johnston battled hard and showed positive spirit in the second period, clawing back a goal through a good strike from Logan Scutt who was laid off by James Rees in the 66th minute.

As the Tigers pushed on to find an equaliser the game became more open and they were reduced to nine men after another handball preventing a goalscoring opportunity, this time for Shaun Fisher.

Ryan Williams stepped up to dispatch the spot kick, his second goal of the game to seal the victory for Narberth 2nds.

They will now face Hundleton in the Division Five Cup Final at Monkton Swifts pitch on Tuesday 7th May with a 6pm kick-off.
