Haverfordwest 59/1 beat Llangwm 58 all out

The sun shone at the racecourse as Haverfordwest made their return to the first division against old rivals Llangwm. The hosts won the toss and elected to field first which proved to be a good call from the Town skipper. Despite being weaker than in previous seasons Llangwm's batting order still had some quality players who were more than capable of taking the game to Town's bowlers.

Adam James had other ideas and he dismissed Matthew Kiff for a duck, followed by Noah Davies, Ewan Griffiths and Chris Inward all for single fingers. Top scorer for Llangwm was Shaun Waller who battled his way to 16 off 40 balls. However when he became James' fifth wicket the writing was on the wall for the visitors having made just 58 all out, James finishing with figures of 5/19. First division batsmen will sigh when they see that, nobody will be looking forward to facing James again this season. Pete Soulsby, Clive Tucker and Jake Merry also picked up wickets in what was a dominant fielding display by the hosts.

Mikey Jones and Shan Karannagodage opened the innings for Haverfordwest and made it to 37 before they lost their first wicket when Karannagodage fell to Chris Inward. Ben Field came to the crease to join Jones and they saw their team home comfortably, with Jones finished on 29*, Field 12* very much job done for the hosts.
