Carew progressed to the next round of the West Wales Cup with a victory over Swansea side Fforestfach thanks to a hat-trick from Marcus Griffiths.
The hosts scored all four of their goals within 25 minutes, with Marcus Griffiths also registering an assist, setting up team mate Jonathan Bennett.
The victory will be a welcome reprieve for the Rooks who have had a slow start to their domestic league campaign, but have shown over the years their prowess in cup competitions.
