Johnston progressed to the next round of the West Wales Cup, defeating Carmarthenshire opponents Loughor Rovers 3-1 thanks to goals from Josh Knapp, Craig Bendall and Joey George.

There was a large and lively crowd of over 100 spectators down Glebelands, with strong travelling away support.

The Tigers were bolstered by the return of Anthony Bevans in goal, rejoining the club after a brief departure. 

The hosts got off to a flying start when Josh Knapp finished smartly on the volley into the bottom corner after a lovely ball over the top from Scott Murray.

The lead wasn’t to last long, with Loughor Rovers quickly firing back with a good goal into the bottom corner from William Picton Jones.

Johnston restored their lead on the stroke off half time after a lovely 1-2 between Captain Joey George and Craig Bendall who slotted home with a smart finish, after good pressing from the front.

In a feisty second half, the Tigers added another in the 80th minute after Ashden King played in Josh Knapp down the left - a constant threat all game, with Knapp playing a smart ball back to Joey George to make it three.
