Angle sealed their spot in the Division Four Cup Final with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Newport Tigers, thanks to a hat-trick from Chris Richards on Saturday 19th April at Marble Hall Pitch in Milford Haven.
Sitting in 2nd place in the table, Angle, who - barring their last league outing - have been in excellent form would have had all eyes on the cup with league leaders Pennar Robins 2nds and fellow promotion chaser Tenby 2nds out of the competition.
Their strong season has been led by the excellent form of summer signing Chris Richards, who prior to the game had scored 24 goals and registered 20 assists in 23 games.
It was Richards again who was to be the star, scoring a hat-trick to seal his sides place in the final where they will face Fishguard Sports 2nds, following their victory over Prendergast Villa.
Angle took the lead just 13 minutes in through Marcus Blair, thanks to an Aaron Parsley assist, but Newport responded just eight minutes later with Jacob Lewis equalising thanks to an assist from Andrew Baskerville.
Angle then surged into a resounding lead, with a couple of Chris Richards goals either side of a Jake Seaton penalty giving them a 4-1 lead at half-time. Seaton also enjoying a fantastic season, having scored 23 goals prior to the game.
In a quieter second half, Richards completed his hat-trick in the 71st minute, thanks to an assist from Seaton.
With Angle having played all their league fixtures, a top two finish seems unlikely given Tenby 2nds four games in hand with a three point gap. However, rumours of three teams gaining promotion could mean they may still go up.
