New Hedges Saundersfoot United secured a promotion and league double, with a 2-1 victory over Pembroke Borough in Division Three after extra-time.

The win makes it back-to-back division cup victories, following their success over St Ishmaels 2nds last season. It crowns a fantastic season for the club, who also secured their third consecutive promotion.

Pembroke Borough have also enjoyed a strong season, finishing 4th in the league, with the two teams sharing a 2-2 draw in their last meeting in February.

The Boro took the lead early in the first half with Connor Rees putting his side in front in the 21st minute, thanks to an assist from Dionte Campbell after good work down the left before a low cross into the box.

As New Hedges Saundersfoot United responded in search of an equaliser, the Boro goalkeeper Owen Wallace pulled off a number of fantastic saves to keep his side in front.

Saundersfoot hit back early in the second half, with an equaliser coming through Harvey Drummond in the 47th minute thanks to an assist from Adam Davidson after good play down the flank.

The second half was unfortunately marred by an injury to Davidson who was forced to come off in the 59th minute, after a a nasty landing on his arm following a foul as he made his way into the box.

With the two sides level after 90 minutes, there was to be 30 minutes of extra-time played.

Just four minutes into the additional period and substitute Morgan Broomhall fired his team in front, thanks to an assist from Harvey Drummond.

The goal proved to be the winner, with New Hedges Saundersfoot United erupting in their celebrations with their new silverware.
