Hakin United progressed to the Pembrokeshire Senior Cup Semi-Finals after defeating their rivals Goodwick United 3-0 away from home on Saturday 22nd February, avenging their recent league defeat.
The Vikings knew they had a point to prove after their recent 1-4 loss to their bitter rivals that effectively ended the title race for Pembrokeshire Division One.
Manager Scott Davies was quick to point out after the match that he couldn't have wished for a better time to play them, labelling the match an ideal opportunity for his players to right the wrongs from that game.
The Hakin team saw a number of changes with Kieran King, Henry Mayhew, Ben Aldred, Craig Nicholson and Liam Parks all coming in to the starting XI.
For the hosts, Steven Dockerty replaced Luke Hayward in midfield with the rest of the XI unchanged.
Much like the league encounter, there was to be a couple of quick fire early goals of great importance, with Hakin racing out the blocks to stamp their authority on the game.
Liam Parks put the visitors ahead in the 14th minute with a fantastic finish from a tight angle, after being played through by Captain Ryan Wilson following some good football in the middle with Jack Britton.
Just four minutes later and summer signing Jordan Kilby doubled their lead, firing home the rebound after his initial shot was saved by Nick Jones.
Goodwick manager Chris O'Sullivan responded with a 21st minute substitution, bringing on midfielder regular Luke Hayward in an attempt to shore up the middle of the park.
With no more goals in the first half, it wasn't until the 73rd minute that the Vikings would add a third to round off an impressive display after smart play once again between Wislon and Britton, with the latter confidently slotting home after finding himself 1-on-1 following a clever "3rd man" run, with his persistent movement causing problems for the Goodwick defence all afternoon.
Hakin United will face Pennar Robins at the Ogi Bride Meadow Stadium in the Senior Cup Semi-Finals, following their 7-0 home victory over Letterston.
Elsewhere, Milford United defeated Lawrenny 9-0 away from home and cup holders Clarbeston Road defeated Tenby 4-1 on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 encounter.
