Clarbeston Road traveled to Herbrandston with only two points from their last four league games. Following a cup victory against Camrose, they were eager to secure three points to maintain their lead in the race for third place over Tenby and Pennar in the league standings, with their rivals in West Wales Cup action.
Following a difficult season for Herbrandston, Clarby went in to the game as clear favourites, delivering the expected result with a 3-0 victory thanks to a Sami Hurton double and a goal from Jake Wesley.
Despite the loss, this match marked one of Herbrandston's best performances of the season, limiting their defeat to three goals and showing plenty of fighting spirit in difficult circumstances.
Clarbeston Road's Rhys Mansell kept a clean sheet in goal with minimal action, whilst Josh Wood, Laurie Haworth, and Travis Jones providing the assists for the goals.
In the 88th minute, Sami Hurton had a chance to complete his hat-trick and make it 4-0 after Travis Jones was brought down in the box. However, his penalty struck the crossbar, and his follow-up attempt sailed over into the field.
Clarby now turn their attention to next Saturday's home fixture against fifth-placed Pennar, who sit seven points points behind them but with four games in hand.
Following that, they face the tough challenge of taking on league leaders Goodwick United.
Next up for Herbrandston is a trip to face Merlins Bridge at the Pembrokeshire Sports Village, followed by home fixture against Kilgetty.
