Cresselly maintained their place at the peak of Division One as they beat Haverfordwest at home. The league leaders chose to bat first, and Tom Murphy wasted no time to contribute to a massive 329 put on by Cresselly. Murphy scored 123 at a strike rate of 116 which included 13 fours and four sixes as he secured his maiden century of the season. Charlie Arthur entered at number three, falling agonisingly close to a century when he fell to the hands of Chris Phillips, who picked up his first wicket of a four wicket haul. His second wicket was the wicket of Tom Murphy, putting an end to his ferocious knock, as Phillips finished with the figures of 4-87. Dan James (37no) and Alex Bailey (24) added further runs for the hosts, with James Marchant (2-37) taking a further two wickets for the visitors. Cresselly finished on 329 after 45 overs, taking their run tally to 2222 for the season.

In reply, Haverfordwest also saw their number three batsman fall devastatingly short of a century. Ben Field batting incredibly well for his 99, hitting 11 fours and three sixes off his 109 deliveries faced, falling one run short of his second century of the season. Ben’s older brother Dan Field went one better, scoring 137 off 83 deliveries as the brothers added a 218 partnership before Ben’s dismissal. Dan smashed 12 fours and nine sixes and took the score to 301 before he was dismissed for the eighth wicket in the final over. An astonishing 236 runs between the two Fields in the match. With Haverfordwest needing 29 runs off the final over to win, the league leaders saw the match out and won by 25 runs. An incredible match for the neutral, with 633 runs and 16 wickets between the two teams.

Burton faced Llangwm at Pill Parks, hoping to create some speration between them and the bottom two. Burton won the toss and chose to bat first, bringing Toby Hayman and Joseph Kiff into the attack. The two shared a partnership of 136 for the first wicket before Toby was dismissed. He notched up a score of 84 off 68 balls, which included ten fours and four sixes. Opening partner Kiff also reached a half century, scoring five fours and three sixes for his 50 before he was dismissed with the score at 168 in the 21st over. Jonathan Venables entered at number three, second top scoring with 64 (9x4 1x6) and Luke Hayman also contributed with 35 before the away side declared after 35 overs with the scoreboard showing 286-4. Toby Asson and Ollie Davies opened well for the home side, having a partnership of 43 before Davies was dismissed on 23. Harry Owen got the breakthrough for Burton, who bowled well after his promotion to the first team and finished with the figures of 2-21. Morgan Scale bowled well for his seven overs, securing the figures of 4-24. Toby Asson was the last wicket to fall as Luke Hayman took his wicket with his only ball in the innings. Asson stuck at the crease to pick up 59 runs (8x4 3x6) in a strong performance with the bat. Burton bowled the home side out for 107 runs as they won by 179 runs. The 20 point win sees them jump above Whitland and back into 7th.

Carew reduced the gap between them and Cresselly to just five points as they beat Saundersfoot away from home. Saundersfoot won the toss and chose to bat, with first change Carew bowler James Hinchcliffe finding the breakthrough with his first ball. His three wickets (3-32) was only bettered by Rhys Davies (4-40), who took the wickets of both Tom (33) and John Mansbridge (27). The Mansbridges were two of the top three Saundersfoot scorers, bettered only by Gareth Edwards who scored 38 from number seven. Shaun Whitfield ensured his scoring was put to a stop as he picked up his first of two wickets in the match (2-40). Saundersfoot were bowled out with the last ball of the innings with the score on 182. Carew opener Adam Chandler got the visitors underway, scoring 44 and remaining at the crease until the 26th over. John Mansbridge got the breakthrough, as he dismissed both of the openers and finished with the figures of 2-52. Carew wicket keeper Morgan Grieve top scored for the visitors. His 82 off 59 balls consisted of 11 fours and four maximums as he remained at the crease alongside Shaun Whitfield (19no) to ensure Carew chased down the total with just under 15 overs remaining and 7 wickets in hand. 20 points added for Carew, as they continue in their pursuit of Cresselly as the battle for the title heats up.

Herbrandston’s winning run was haltered when they played Lawrenny at home. The home side chose to bowl first, a decision which i’m sure Lawrenny would have been perfectly happy with in dry conditions. It was Lawrenny number three Troy Purslowe who stole the show for the visitors. Entering the attack in over number nine, Purslowe remained at the crease for the remaining 36 overs, smashing 119 in the meantime. From the 111 deliveries he faced, he smashed 18 fours and two maximums. Will Nicholas also added a further 32 from number nine in the order before he was bowled out by Dean John (3-46). Harry Nicholas (2-40) and Nathan Banner (2-42) joined Dean John in contributing with wickets for the home side as Lawrenny made a total of 258/8 off their 45. The visitors got to work straight away with the ball, picking up the crucial wicket of Charlie Malloy in the seventh over of the innings which left the score at 33-1. Wicket keeper Jack Nicholas scored 21 at number four before Ryan Morton took his wicket, the second of his four (4-47). Dean John added a further 29 before Oscar Lewis got him out with his seventh of 10 balls, finishing with figures of 2-4. Rob Williams also picked up 3-32, enduring Herbrandston were bowled out for 135 and propelling Lawrenny to only 11 points off the top three.

Whitland travelled to Neyland in the hope of forming a gap between them and the drop zone, as they entered the match only nine points clear of the bottom two. They chose to bowl first at the Neyland Athletic Ground, with the Whitland opening bowlers starting strongly. Wayne Howells (1-31) and Geraint Jones (1-60) took the wickets of each opening Neyland batsman which saw the home side at 34-2. Dai Davies entered at number three, adding 67 off 97 (8x4 1x6). He was joined at the wicket with Ross Hardy, with the two of them providing a partnership of 121. Hardy top scored with 78 off 63 balls, with 13 fours and one maximum. Andrew Miller (44no) and Ashley Watkins (10no) remained at the crease as Neyland reached 253-4 off their 45 overs. Whitland were handed the tough task of chasing an impressive score set by Neyland. The visitors did not get off to the best of starts, with Jack John (2-27) finding the breakthrough in the fourth over and seeing the away side stand at 7-1. Glopal Ramasamy top scored with 37 for the visitors, with Iwan Bevan (20) the only other Whitland player to reach 20+. However, both of the aforementioned players were dismissed by Andrew Miller who contributed with 4-48 to see Whitland bowled out for 141.
