Big wins for Narberth, St Ishmaels, Pembroke and Hook as the top four all win this week in Division Two.

League leaders Narberth travelled to Carew II as they looked to extend their lead over St Ishmaels in second. The visitors chose to bat first and scored a mighty 287-6 off their 40 overs. Shay Norcross and Loui Davies both picked up half centuries, as they scored 84 and 65 respectively, with Sion Jenkins the pick of the bowlers for the home side with figures of 2-38. Rhys Grigg hit 59 in reply as Carew made an attempt to chase down the huge target set by Narberth, but the visitors’ bowling attack proved too strong as Carew were bowled out for 149, with Ryan Williams (3-51) and Matthew Johns (2-24) the pick of the bowlers for the league leaders. They secured the 138 run victory, adding 20 points to their total for the season and extending the gap to second to 16 points.

St Ishmaels hosted Johnston, with the home side choosing to bowl first. This was a decision that clearly paid off as Johnston were bowled out for 100, with Lee Summons top scoring on 26. Steven Williams (3-10), Brennan Devonald (3-20) and Andrew Pawlett (2-33) picked the wickets up for the hosts. They passed the target for 2 wickets, with Jonathan Pawlett (57) and Peter Bradshaw (26no) combining to ensure their side picked up 18 points as they remain in second place.

Pembroke hosted relegation threatened Llanrhian as they hoped to continue their push for promotion. The visitors won the toss and chose to bat, with Jack Jones top scoring with 79. Ieuan Watson (27no) and Adam Phillips (26) also contributed as the away side totalled 162-7 after their 40 overs. Pembroke were able to pass the target for the loss of only two wickets, as Ceri Brace (84no) and Jack Harries (27no) remained at the crease to secure the 8 wicket victory. 18 points added for Pembroke as they remain only 6 points behind St Ishmaels.

Hook travelled to Llechryd, a side who have seen a change in form as of late. Llechryd won the toss and decided to bowl. Liam Miller (65), Rhys Phelps (52), Jacob Lay (47) and Owen Phelps (45) all combined, aiding Hook to reach 248-6 after 40 overs, with Florian Cartwright (2-41) and Graham Keen (2-61) picking up wickets for the hosts. In reply, Llechryd reached 203 all out, with John Curran scoring a magnificent 119, with Jack Davies also adding another 24 to the score. They were no match for Hook seam bowler Jack Phillips however, who picked up the remarkable figures of 6-20 from his spell, supported by Brennan Martin’s 2-51 as Hook won by 45 runs.

Burton II tough season continued as they were bowled all out for 37 at home to Cresselly II. Tyler James (4-4), Iori Thomas (3-22) and Ryan Lewis (2-9) picked up the wickets before Josh Lewis (15) and Lewis Mason (13no) combined to pass it for two wickets.
