Fishguard and Goodwick (191-2) maintained their unbeaten record to top Division 3 on Saturday (May 17) with a resounding 8 wicket victory at the Clive Huxley Memorial Ground over Bosherston & Stackpole (190-5) in a game sponsored by OC Davies Roundabout Garage.

Fishguard talisman, opening batsman Nigel Delaney (63no;1x6;7x4) continued his rich vein of form this season which saw him score 85 at home last weekend to Lamphey and 64 two weeks ago at Laugharne to once again lead his side to victory. Delaney was supported in the run chase by Daniel Griffiths (40;1x6;3x4) who came to the crease first wicket down after Ashish Jayes had fallen LBW with the scoreboard on 46, to Chris Gibbs (1-26), for 20, which included four boundaries.

Griffiths was caught and bowled by Paul Oppen (1-31) with the score having progressed to 94 which brought skipper Scott Delaney (43no; 2x6;4x4) to the middle to join his father. Their unbeaten stand of 97 for the third wicket ensured an emphatic victory in the thirty third over as reward for his decision to ask his opposite number Josh Davies side to bat first, after he had won the toss earlier in the afternoon.

Wickets were also hard to come by for the Fishguard bowling attack using their ball sponsored by Food & Drink Federation (FDF) Cymru as Delaney used seven bowlers in attempt to restrict the home sides scoring and take wickets in the 40 overs, Rob Couzens returned 2-20, from his eight over allocation, Nigel Delaney, Jayes and Olly Sinnett also successful with wickets. For the Lillies Josh Davies opened the innings and scored a half century (which included eleven boundaries, where he added 50 for the first wicket with Richie McKay (11;2x4) and 40 for the second wicket with Yori Roberts (35;6x4) before both were out to leave the scoreboard on 103-3.

Narberth rugby starlet Lewys Gibbs used all his experience to chaperon the middle order to a challenging target as he hit a brace of sixes and half a dozen boundaries in his 50no, ably supported by Ieuan Mathews (16;1x6;2x4) and Oppen (113no; 2x4). Roberts contributing 35 as they look to regroup ahead of next weekend's journey to second place Hundleton, who sit two points above them in the promotion places. Fishguard are on their travels once again and visit the Athletic Ground to take on rock bottom Neyland II.
