The Quarter Finals of the DR Morris Cup took place this week, which saw renowned cup sides Cresselly, Saundersfoot, Carew and DR Morris defending champions Neyland progress to the semi-finals, the draw to take place on Wednesday (May 28).
On Tuesday (May 20) Cresselly (179-9) defeated their neighbours Lawrenny (150-6) for the second time in four days, by 29 runs. And on the same night at the King George V field, Saundersfoot (141-6) overcame the challenge of visitors, Division 2 pace setters Narberth (118ao) by 23 runs.
The following evening, Carew (132-5) were too strong for Division 2 title challengers Pembroke (131-6) winning by 5 wickets at the Gerlad Hicks Memorial ground, the final quarter final tie on Thursday (May 22) at Springfield, where visitors Neyland (176-3) accounted for hosts Whitland (149-8) by 23 runs.
The cup focus for the week commencing Tuesday (May 27) is on the prestigious Harrison Allen Bowl, a 22 over contest and the opening night fixtures see an all Division 2 encounter at LLandigigie Fawr when title contenders Pembroke travel to meet Llanrhian, whilst there is a battle royal scheduled at Lawrenny, the Harrison Allen Bowl holders taking on close rivals Carew, who will be looking to reach the prestigious final once again, their first since 2021.
The following evening Kingsmore will see Division 3 side Kilgetty host newly promoted but relegation threatened Burton whilst Neyland will take on 2023 Bowl winners Llangwm - the Three Salmons rock bottom of Division 1 and in some disarray as skipper Steve Mills has transferred to Johnston two days after all-rounder Noah Davies put pen to paper to sign for Carew.
The final two games of the first round will be at Springfield, where Whitland will take on first division rivals Cresselly and Division 3 Hundleton make the journey across the Cleddau Bridge to the Dale peninsula to take on St Ishmaels.

Round 2 of the Harrison Allen Bowl will takes place the following week, with the six first round winners joined by Johnston, Pembroke Dock, Hook, Lamphey, Bosherston & Stackpole, Crymych, Narberth, Saundersfoot, Herbrandston and Haverfordwest.
