As another week passed in Pembrokeshire Division One, Carew and Cresselly both ensured that their unbeaten runs continued. Carew hosted Haverfordwest, restricting the visitors to 156 all out, which included Ben Field scoring 53 and Rhys Sewell 31. Despite this, impressive bowling spells from new signing Noah Davies (4-29) and Rhys Davies (2-8) ensured that Haverfordwest did not notch the score up any higher. It was Tim Hicks and Shaun Whitfield who impressed with the bat, scoring 53 and 47 respectively to ensure that Carew were the only home side to win in the division this weekend.

Cresselly also ensured that their unbeaten run continued with a comfortable victory over Whitland. Tom Arthur continued his impressive season so far with the ball, with his impressive 6-25 proving why he has been so difficult to face thus far. He was backed up impressively by Christian Phillips who took 3 wickets for only 14 runs to restrict Whitland to only 68 runs as the tenth wicket was taken. Cresselly passed their score for the loss of two wickets, with Morgan Lewis scoring 38 not out.

Both of the newly promoted sides went head to head, as Burton hosted Herbrandston. The visitors won the toss and chose to bowl first, which proved to be a good decision. Robert Hood (3-34), Charlie Malloy (3-21) and Harry Nicholas (2-15) all combined to ensure Burton were bowled out for 94. It was the latter two who ensured the victory with the bat, showing off their skills with both the bat and the ball. Charlie’s 40 not out and Harry’s 44 not out helped Herbrandston pass their target without the loss of a wicket. Burton’s search for second win of the season continues, they have the tough task of facing Carew next week.

Neyland travelled to Lawrenny as they looked to stay within touching distance of the unbeaten top two. They won the toss and bowled, with Sean Hannon (3-23), Tom Pritchard (2-26) and Ross Hardy (2-26) all impressing with the ball. Ryan Morton showed strength with the bat, with his 56 not out and Alfie Buckle’s 26 helping to contribute to their 183-9 after 45 overs. Neyland were able to pick up the 5 wicket victory, with Paul Murray falling agonisingly short of his maiden century of the season. However, his 97 followed up by Andrew Miller’s 31 not out insured Neyland added 18 points to their tally for the season.

Llangwm’s difficult start to the season continued at the hands of Saundersfoot. The visitors’ bowling power proving impossible to deal with for strugglers Llangwm, as Sam Franklin’s 5-9 and both Tom Mansbridge and Nic Cope sharing the figures of 2-10 saw Llangwm collapse at just 40 all out. This was expectedly easily chased down by the visitors, with Tom Mansbridge (26 NO) and Gareth Edward’s (13 NO) combining to secure the 20 point victory.
