Prendergast Villa moved out of the Pembrokeshire Division Four relegation zone with an emphatic 7-0 victory over Solva 2nds thanks to four goals from their player-manager Joe John.
The two sides went into the game neck and neck on nine points each, with Solva 2nds recently securing back to back victories to give themselves hope of survival after a slow start to the season.
For Villa it had also been a frustrating start to their campaign, unable to push on from their top half finish last season, plagued by availability issues and struggling for consistency.
Their ranks have however recently been bolstered by the arrival of Steven Dockerty, an experienced player who was recently part of Goodwick United's triple title success.
The scoring was opened by Trent Brazell, the 17-year-old one of the beneficaries of the club's Second Team which has enjoyed a decent campaign in the division below, enjoying his first senior football their before making the step up to the First Team.
A similar story for 16-year-old Alec Skelton, who was also on the scoresheet and picked up two assists.
Completing the scoring was another youngster, 19-year-old Logun Young who also picked up an assist.
The result sees Prendergast Villa move up to 10th place, putting two points between themselves and the danger zone as they now look to rise up the table.
